Community

Community is the wisdom for today, "Together, we're all smarter than any one of us"
Tribal is about community, it is danced together, as a group of women flowing together as one. Talking to each other with out even speaking! Dancing at classes, getting dressed for performances, sharing tips and tricks. The community is what is all about. With out the students, Wild Sky does not happen. So let me take a moment to thank all of those who have taken the time, and shown the courage to learn something new and out of your box. I ask you to bring some of your community to the Wild Sky Community! There is nothing quite like it in Arlington!

Wisdom for today, Asking for Help

When I pulled a card out of the oracle deck, "Women who do to much" a wonderful gift from my good friend Karla, the card today was, "Asking for help" on the back it says,

"Asking for help doesn't mean that we're weak of incompetent. It's usually indicative of an advanced state of wisdom."

Personally, I am a very independent person, not wanting to "bother" anybody with the need for help, but when I get stuck in that way of thinking, I become overwhelmed, depressed, and stressed. I think, how can I possibly get all of this done by myself? Lately with the additional status of FCBD® sister studio, it has seems like the world has piled on my shoulders! But that is not the case, I have more help available, I just have to ask!

I think this is a huge challenge to us as women, but if we look up to our Tribe, we will find any solutions to our problems, and, yes, HELP! Maybe we need a babysitter for a few hours, or somebody to fix something. Ask around in the tribe, you never know who might be willing to help!

So for today, before coming to class, try asking somebody for help, and feel the relief come off of your shoulders as it is ok to ask for help!

ATS® Teacher Training, I haz it!

Sooo I am now am an ATS® certified teacher! this is pretty awesome! It was a two day training with Carolena Nericcio of FatChanceBellyDance® and Megha Gavin of Devyani Dance Company, and it was so worth it. I loved all the ladies I met, the compliments and critiques. I love that I am at the next level of Confidence with Teaching, and am ready to pass down this knowledge to my ever growing population of students! rock! I hope to see you at a class soon!

ATS® is Trademarked!

I know many in the Belly dance community, specially the Tribal dance community probably will think that this move by FatChanceBellyDance® is one to crush their creative potential. Well think again, yes, I am a huge follower of the FatChanceBellyDance® way of dancing, and well way of life. I think this is a great thing that Fat Chance has done, protecting their hard work. I am simply proud to have my General Skills Certification, and to be getting my Teacher Training 1 course in March. I think Fat Chance has the right way of it. Cheers!

Nothing but the rain... and Tribal!

So as I am well into week 3 at Wild Sky Studio, I realized I have been blessed by some higher cosmic power, as I have students, I have a great little place to teach, and people are coming back, what more can I say! 2012 might be the year of the Dragon, but in Arlington, TX, it is going to be the year of Wild Sky Studio, and a great year for Tribal Belly dance in the metroplex!
If you haven't come in and seen the studio, you should! and schedule a massage while you are at it!
